SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE
At Weapons Down Wirral, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to grow up feeling safe, supported and valued. Through early intervention, positive role models and strong community partnerships, we help young people build confidence, resilience and the skills they need to make positive choices for their future.
Free weekly sessions for juniors
We deliver free weekly boxing and fitness sessions for juniors aged 10–16, creating a safe, welcoming environment where young people can improve their physical and mental wellbeing, build self-esteem, develop discipline and form positive friendships. We are committed to reducing financial barriers to participation and continually expanding access to free opportunities as our organisation grows.

Working with local partners
We work closely with Youth Justice Services, Care Leavers, schools, colleges and other local partners to engage young people who may be vulnerable to violence, poor mental health or social exclusion. Alongside our regular activities, we provide free weekly boxing and fitness sessions for young people referred through Youth Justice Services, together with free memberships to Argyle Community Fitness for Youth Justice participants and Care Leavers, giving them ongoing access to positive support and a safe place to belong.

Outreach and awareness
We also deliver outreach sessions and awareness talks at Wirral Met College and are using lived experience to educate, inspire and encourage healthier, safer life choices.

Pathways beyond our programmes
Beyond our programmes, we create pathways for young people to thrive through volunteering, work experience placements, accredited training and recognised qualifications. These opportunities help develop confidence, practical skills and employability, empowering young people to realise their potential and take positive steps into education, training or employment.

Our aim
Our aim is simple: to help every young person realise their potential, make positive life choices and build a brighter future for themselves and their community.
